Key Duties & responsibilities:
· Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
· Execute cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to State & Main’s recipe and standards.
· Time the steps in each dish and understand the cooking requirements to ensure precise execution and consistency.
· Be knowledgeable about menu items, menu changes, and food preparation procedures to guarantee a remarkably consistent guest experience.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food items.
· Monitor and manage food quality, presentation, and portion control to ensure consistency and excellence.
· Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food presentation and service.
· Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
· Support the Kitchen Manager and Sous Chefs with daily tasks, including prep work, cooking, and clean-up.
Qualifications:
· 1+ years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or similar setting is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple task while maintaining attention to detail.
· Excellent Communication and teamwork skills with a focus on contributing to a positive kitchen environment.
· Commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
· Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to grow within the organization.
